Native American Women Warriors (NAWW)

Founded in 2010 by Army veteran Mitchelene BigMan — White House Champion of Change recipient — dedicated to empowering Native American women veterans and active duty service members worldwide. A virtual organization with members stationed globally, serving as the first all-female Native American color guard in the country. Programs: readjustment support and cultural reintegration for transition to civilian life, mental health and wellness resources, career readiness programs, cultural preservation and advocacy through educational programs and community events, and benefits navigation with tribal veterans services officers. Open to non-military and non-Native allies as support members. Because Native American women are the fastest-growing population of veterans and serve at some of the highest rates per capita of any demographic group.
