AmericaServes (IVMF)

The country's first coordinated network of organizations dedicated to serving the military community, operated by Syracuse University's D'Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families. Operates in 15 locations including 3 affiliate communities, connecting local public, private, and nonprofit providers through a shared coordinated-care platform. Uses a no-wrong-door approach across 20 service categories, routing clients to best-fit providers and maintaining referral history and accountability rather than handing off and losing track. Enrollment is open regardless of discharge status. Distinguished by rigorous outcome research — IVMF and VHA researchers have published studies on VA Medical Center participation in the networks and on which factors drive successful referral resolution, finding that network-level factors like referral accuracy and resource adequacy matter more than client demographics alone.
