Community Veterans Justice Project (CVJP)

Los Angeles County's dedicated legal and reentry support organization for justice-involved veterans — the first and only project to proactively seek out, identify, and provide one-on-one community support for military and veteran diversion in LA County. Free legal advocacy for veterans with pending felony and misdemeanor charges, utilizing California's veteran alternative sentencing statutes to pursue treatment over incarceration, case dismissals, and record sealing. Also provides comprehensive reentry services from county jail and state prison: HUD-VASH and housing navigation, VA benefits enrollment, mental health warm transfers, job readiness, GI Bill navigation, and parole support. All branches, all discharge statuses, all convictions welcome — veteran-to-veteran accompaniment model.
