Disabled American Veterans (DAV)

Congressionally chartered veterans service organization, among the largest and oldest in the country, dedicated to veterans disabled in the line of duty and their families. Its nationwide corps of VA-accredited National Service Officers — often disabled veterans themselves — prepares, presents, and prosecutes VA disability claims and appeals completely free of charge to any veteran, member or not. Also runs a large volunteer network driving veterans to VA medical appointments, and advocates before Congress on disability policy. Free.
