Adaptive running nonprofit that transforms the lives of youth, adults, and military veterans with disabilities through athletic programs and social connection, hosting free run, walk, and roll workouts in more than 60 chapters in parks around the world. Its Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans, launched in 2004, serves men and women injured in Iraq, Afghanistan, and beyond, working alongside physical, occupational, and recreational therapists to integrate hand-crank cycling or running on prosthetics into ongoing rehabilitation. Participants receive training and specialized adaptive equipment, and the program stresses achievable accomplishment — building from the signature 4-mile Hope & Possibility race up to full marathons.
