CreatiVets

Founded in 2013 by Marine Corps veteran and Purple Heart recipient Richard Casper — who discovered songwriting could save his life after four Humvee explosions left him with TBI. CreatiVets uses songwriting, visual art, photography, and creative writing as primary therapeutic interventions for veterans with PTSD and TBI. 1,200+ veterans served annually across 15 states and Puerto Rico; 40+ veteran-written songs released with 15M+ streams. Partners include Gary Sinise Foundation and Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Forbes Elevate Prize winner. Now building the first 24-hour art and music center in Nashville specifically for when PTSD hits late at night and the usual options are the worst ones.
