Blinded Veterans Association (BVA)

Congressionally chartered veterans service organization founded in 1945 by blinded World War II veterans, and the only national organization exclusively dedicated to serving veterans who are blind or have low vision. Provides peer support from veterans who have experienced vision loss themselves, field service representatives who help veterans access VA blind rehabilitation services and benefits, and VA-accredited claims assistance at no charge. Services are available regardless of whether vision loss is service-connected or occurred after service. Testifies annually before the joint House and Senate Veterans Affairs Committee VSO hearing on blind rehabilitation funding and access.
